It really isn't as complicated as you might think!
To be totally honest I didn't know what a Health Coach was when I started my studies to become one! I knew I wanted to keep learning about the body and help people with any health concerns. I also loved that the course I chose focused on nutrition and looking at the bigger picture when working with clients.
The Role of a Health Coach is:
To work with clients to adopt and maintain a health lifestyle.
To identify changes needed to improve health and reduce health risks.
To equip clients to make healthier food and lifestyle choices and adopt sustainable healthy habits and behaviours.
Health Coaches are uniquely trained in lifestyle and behaviour change, equipping clients to empower themselves to make healthier food and lifestyle choices and adopt sustainable healthy habits and behaviours
What does holistic mean?
I would also describe myself as a holistic health coach. It simply means I look at the whole person and take in to consideration their physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing rather than just looking at the physical symptoms a client may be experiencing. This is why I do an in depth case taking consultation as we go really deep and look at all aspects of your life. I think the biggest thing I have learnt is that everything is connected and that emotional health has a huge impact on our physical health.
"Working with a Health Coach offers the support and framework that can benefit many people and make things easier as they take back control of their own health."
